Hi! We are almost at the end of selling pumpkins. It has been a very fun experience, playing at being a farmer to two baby goats, a baby pig, baby bunnies and chicks. I am ready to hang up the rake and shovel, though. Chasing the goat and pig around when they get out is not exactly the most fun thing to do. I like it better when they are in the pen. The bunnies are adorable and the chicks, well..they are growing up, not as cute as when they were just a few days old. We've sold a ton of pumpkins and our lot looks like it, too! You would never know there was anything wrong with the economy in this neighborhood. We have three glorious weeks of vacation time before starting all over again, this time with Christmas trees. At least, we don't have to take care of any animals this time around. We'll be closing up our lot on Halloween night around 5 or 6 and then going to our boss' Halloween party! What fun that will be! Being that my birthday falls on that very day, it will be like going to my own birthday party, only no one knows it but me and Ron. Did I mention we were also married on that day? Ron has never forgotten!

October 11
Hi everyone, I know, it's been awhile since I've last updated. Well, we have left the KOA in Blythe, CA at last and are now in Walnut Creek, CA running a pumpkin lot. We took our time getting here, first stopping in Fontana to visit some Boomer friends for about a week, then, we drove up to Santa Cruz to visit some other friends. We finally got up here around Sept 23rd to get our lot ready to open on Oct 1st. I will be posting some pictures of what our lot looks like and as soon as I get some pictures of us in our Halloween clothes, I will post those too. While we are working, no work is being done on the bus, although, we did purchase some roller shades for all the windows. It sure is nice being able to close the shades at night, so we don't feel like we're in a fishbowl with everyone looking in at us. There are two other Boomer couples up here, one is selling pumpkins, Bruce & Kathy Johnston, their lot is in Saratoga, which is near San Jose. John & Cathy Robnik aren't selling pumpkins this year, but, they will be selling trees, with the rest of us. We'll be posting pics of our tree lot, too, when we get it set up.
We not only sell pumpkins, but, we have a petting zoo, with some baby bunnies, baby chicks, a baby pig and two baby goats. They are a hoot to care for. We also have pumpkin painting and we offer kids movies on Saturday nights. I think you'll like our scarecrows, when you see them....
