We never did see one moose or wolf on our entire drive today. I was reading the blog of a couple that Ron met the other day that was also working in the park. They did the same thing we did today, only they did it yesterday and on the way to a trail he was planning to hike, he came upon a moose coming out of a small pond. Now, that was right in the area we were just in today and do you think we could see a moose??? I guess not...tomorrow, we are just staying home and relaxing. We were out for ten hours today, that makes for a very long day, even if we were having fun.

I forgot to mention it, but, early on in our drive today, we had stopped at a pullout and walked out to a bench right next to a river. There was a family there with their binoculars and when we walked up, there was a bear ambling along on the other side of the river, so I managed to get a picture of it. The father told me they had been sitting there not ten minutes and this bear was the second one he had seen. While we were standing there with them, we saw another bear way off in the distance next to a log, but, it was really hard to see him so far away even with my zoom lens. While we were watching him, the same bear we had seen before, came out of the woods and I had an even better view of him than before. I didn't post it on the blog, though, just wanted to mention that we saw three bears today. Guess that makes up for not seeing any moose or wolves.....kinda....

Don't give up there is still time to see more wild life.....

Love Michigan a lot. Today some close friends meet us up here from Arizona. They are on vacation and rented an awesome house for 2 weeks. We will hang around too. Gordon will be on a chartered fishing trip with some of the guys.
Bye for now....Laura
