The next few pictures are of us going off the main part of the lake, into a channel towards the bridge. Some years the water in this channel goes all the way up to the bridge itself, there are post cards in the gift shop, showing this. But, we were 2/3rds of a mile short of being right there next to it, so we had to walk. By the time we arrived, the temps were in the low 80's, so still not too hot and it was an easy walk up to the monument.
