After we left the Visitor's Center, we headed for Itasca State Park to see the headwaters of the Mississippi. It's hard to believe that that mighty river comes from a lake and looks like nothing more than a creek that a beaver would use to dam up for his own use, as you will see. We had a lovely drive through a tree lined drive as we came into the park from the south end. We stopped at an overlook and saw Lake Itasca for the first time.
