After leaving South Carolina, we drove into Georgia and spent a few days at a Corps of Engineer park on Lake Allatoona. We were about half an hour from Atlanta & the lake was right in the middle of suburbia. I was apprehensive that we were going in there with no reservations at the height summer vacation, but, when we drove in, we were informed that the schools had just reconvened a week before, so we pretty much got the whole place to ourselves. We picked a nice prime lakefront site out for ourselves and enjoyed the view. Although there were several neat things to see around the area, we had seen it all when we were here before, so we pretty much just hung out around the lake.
