There's a really great restaurant in a little town called Mathews, which was about half an hour from where we were camped. It's called Chef Todd's Family Restaurant & we highly recommend it! I had wanted to eat some blue crabs & Ron had called the restaurant to find out if they had them there. Well, they had them, but, only the soft shelled ones. I have never had a soft shelled crab, we've always eaten them with the hard shells on them, but, I was game to try them out. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of what they looked like, but, I could have gotten one broiled or fried. I decided to try them fried. They arrived on my plate with the underside facing up. The claws have the consistency like french fries & were actually quite tasty. I pretty much ate everything, except there was some green ooze coming out at one point & I did not eat that, because it did taste funny. Also, there is some kind of membrane near the top of the shell that tasted a little weird, so I didn't eat that either, but, everything else was pretty good. BUT, I still prefer eating my blue crabs with the hard shell....
