The Saturday after they left, our managers, Judy & Ken, invited us to come to the annual Rotary auction in Williams. It was dinner and three different auctions; silent, live and one where you played with quarters. I bid on quite a few items in the silent auction and came away with a small Zuni made pendant. Our live auction consisted of us bidding on a plane ride over the Canyon. It was about a $370 value and we managed to get it for $125. So, we made plans on going the following week, which was last Wednesday.
We were excited about going, but, unfortunately, for Ron, about 10 minutes into the flight, he broke out into a sweat and was sick the rest of the 40 minutes we were in the air. I was in charge of all the pictures and the only way he could see them was through the lens of the camera. He said he opened up his eyes a couple of times, but, was so sick he hardly could stand it. Finally, after we touched down, one of the guys who opened the door open for us asked Ron if he was okay. Ron answered, short and sweet, "Hell no, I'm not alright!!!" Here's the thing, even though he felt ill the whole time we were up in the air, he never once used his barf bag, until he finally sat down on the bench in front of the terminal. And there we, or should I say he, sat/laid down for about an hour after we landed. Finally, he was able to stand up long enough to walk to the car and lay down in the back seat, where he went to sleep while I drove home. He went straight to bed and slept for about an hour and a half and when he woke up, he was fine again.
Wish we'd known what would happen, he could have taken motion sickness pills and been fine, it was truly a bummer for him the whole trip! I get seasick, he gets airsick, next time, we'll know...
