We finally started getting closer and closer to the Grand Canyon Lodge. This place is beautiful, no doubt about it, but, there isn't much to do here but look at the one or two views near the hotel. There is another view out to the Canyon, but, you have to drive a pretty long way to get to it and after driving 5 hours to get here, we didn't feel like driving another half hour or more to get there. Another thing that makes it different from the south rim, as you're looking into the distance, off the patio of the lodge, there is a ridge just to the west, that kind of blocks the view in that direction. You'll see it in the pictures. Also, we were about 1,000 ft higher than the south rim, so as you're looking across it makes theCanyon look narrower and then you can see the land off into infinity towards the south, it is weird.
