After being in the Hershey area for a week, we left headed towards another Thousand Trails park located in Gloucester, VA, about an hour north of the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. This park was in a beautiful setting & we managed to snag a site that looked right down at the Piankatank Bay, which eventually flows into the Chesapeake Bay. From there, we were only about a half an hour from Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown.

I had checked online about tickets to Williamsburg & about died when I saw the price. $40 for just walking around & looking in a few buildings? Outrageous!! We found out much later, that we could have walked around a lot of it for free, but, didn't know it at the time. That will be for the next visit...

We did decide to go to Jamestown Settlement & Yorktown Discovery Center. Jamestown would have been better if they'd had more interpreters in the various areas, but, I think, due to cutbacks in the system, they had a skeleton crew, so because of that, not what I was expecting. The museum, however, was outstanding & a much needed respite after being outside in the hot, humid environment.
