As the bus rally was winding down, our friend Margie told us she was going to the Hershey Thousand Trails park & did we want to come? Of course!, so we made plans to go. We finally left the campground on Tuesday and it ended up being a very loooong day....we should have broken it down to getting there in two days, as it was, it took us about 12 hours to get to the campground. We got there after dark, which we hate to do & just parked in the nearest spot until the following morning....For those of you who may be members of Thousand Trails, if you go to this campground, don't park in the nearest loop to the entrance. The power is terrible, our power kept going in and out of being on their power & being on our inverter, not good!! But, we weren't going to turn off the air, because it was just too darned hot. We could have gone to a different spot, but, we just didn't want to switch, although we probably should have.
Anyway, we had a good week there. We did some shopping in the Amish areas, went to a really good Amish restaurant, visited the Hershey gift shop & had awesome chocolate shakes, visited the Antique Bus & Vehicle Museum, visited downtown Philadelphia to eat an authentic Philly cheese steak & spent quality time with Margie. She left on Friday to head for her son's house in New Jersey, while we stayed the weekend. She was a bit sad about that, because she had been traveling with friends ever since she left California & now she was about to strike out on her own. But, it was a short 2 hour drive and she was headed towards family, so it was okay.
