Tuesday, October 13

Before I get to what we are doing now, I'm going to tell you what Ron's been up to since we got back from the fish camp. With Jere's help, he finally made a pedestal for me to put my feet on while I'm sitting in my chair in the rig. It sure is nice to have a place to put my feet, instead of either dangling them down or resting them up on the dash and I am very grateful for it.

The second thing he got done, is he finally got the shower doors cut down to fit in the bathroom. Apparently, it wasn't that hard and fortunately neither door had any major cracks when he got done. Of course, by doing that, then he had to get busy and hook up the water pipes to the back of the shower faucets, which he did without delay. The shower doors give the bathroom area a whole new look and I broke it in the other day by taking a shower. It works great!!

The time finally came to leave Linden to make tracks to head towards a bus rally that is happening this weekend, starting on Thursday. We wanted to be close, so we chose to go to the Sherman Elks Lodge, because they said they had hookups...well, they do, but, just one, with electric hookup only. You have to park sideways alongside the building and it is very unlevel to park. Apparently, there used to be quite a lot in the back parking lot, but, guess one too many storms came through and now there are no hookups at all. There is also no water and no dump.
I will be posting a picture of it.

On Sunday, when we arrived, the lodge, which is normally closed on Sundays, was open for the Cowboy game, so we went in to watch it and they had chili, chips and dip to eat. We had a great time meeting everyone who were very friendly. The cowboys even managed to win in overtime which made our fellow lodge members very happy.

Since we've been here these past two days, we visited Camping World, a shopping outlet, ate at Cracker Barrel, spent some money at a German meat market in Muenster, and checked out the state park where we're having our rally and a Corps of Engineer park on the Oklahoma side of the border, which was very nice, with some nice sites right on the lake. We'll be moving over there tomorrow morning to stay until the rally starts on Thursday. At least we'll have electric hookups to help our battery get back to full.
